The Shocking Truth about
Synthetic Supplements:

Born from War, Not Wellness

We live in a world where popping a multivitamin is considered a healthy habit, and supermarket aisles are lined with synthetic pills promising energy, immunity, and vitality. But what if the very supplements you trust to nourish your body were never created with health in mind?

It’s time to pull back the curtain on the synthetic supplement industry — a billion-dollar empire with roots not in healing, but in warfare, chemicals, and control.

Chemical structure of synthetic vitamin C.

The Dark Origins: From Nazi War Labs to Today’s Wellness Aisles

Most people don’t know this, but the synthetic vitamin industry traces back to IG Farben, the massive German chemical cartel that supported the Nazi war machine during WWII.

IG Farben wasn’t just manufacturing pharmaceuticals. It was producing:

  • Synthetic vitamins to sustain soldiers during wartime shortages

  • Industrial chemicals for factories and weapons

  • Deadly gases and chemicals for concentration camps like Auschwitz

After WWII, although some IG Farben executives were tried at Nuremberg, many escaped full justice and reentered the pharmaceutical world. Companies that emerged from the ashes of IG Farben include today’s pharmaceutical titans like BASF, Bayer and Hoechst (now Sanofi).

These synthetic supplements were not designed for long-term health. They were designed to be:

  • Shelf-stable

  • Scalable and profitable

  • Patentable (unlike real food)

This was industrial science serving war and capitalism — not human health.

What Happens When You Swallow a Synthetic Supplement?

Here’s what they don’t tell you:

Synthetic vitamins are isolated chemical fragments, often derived from coal tar, petroleum, industrial waste, or GMO corn.

Examples:

  • Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin): Derived from synthetic ammonia and hydrochloric acid

  • Folic Acid: A man-made version of folate that can block real folate metabolism

  • Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid): Often made from fermented GMO corn syrup, processed with hydrochloric acid, acetone, and heavy metals

Your body doesn’t fully recognize or know how to use these fragments. And in order to process them, it must "spend" its own nutrients — draining your stores of enzymes, minerals, and antioxidants.

The result?

You could become more depleted the more you try to supplement.

Take synthetic Vitamin C (ascorbic acid) for example:

  • Lacks natural cofactors like bioflavonoids and tyrosinase

  • Can turn pro-oxidant in high doses, causing oxidative stress

  • May irritate the gut lining and burden the kidneys

  • Often comes from GMO corn sprayed with glyphosate

Synthetic Supplements Table

Synthetic Supplements Can Deplete You Over Time, Not Nourish You

Synthetic Vitamin Depletes These Nutrients Why It Matters
Ascorbic Acid (Vit C) Copper, magnesium, bioflavonoids Required for proper antioxidant function
Folic Acid B12, methyl donors Disrupts real folate pathways
Cyanocobalamin (B12) Methyl groups, glutathione Detoxes the cyanide group
Vitamin D2 Magnesium, K2 Can calcify arteries without cofactors
Calcium Carbonate Magnesium, D3, K2 Can displace vital minerals

Synthetic Vitamin Sources

What Are Synthetic Vitamins Made From?

Synthetic Nutrient Common Industrial Source
Vitamin C (Ascorbic Acid) GMO corn, acetone, hydrochloric acid
Vitamin B1 (Thiamine) Coal tar derivatives
Vitamin B2 (Riboflavin) Benzene, ammonia
Vitamin B3 (Niacin) Petroleum derivatives
Folic Acid Petroleum + synthetic pteridine ring structures
Vitamin B12 (Cyanocobalamin) Cyanide + cobalt + charcoal + GMO bacteria
Vitamin D2 Irradiated fungi or yeast
Calcium Carbonate Ground limestone, chalk, marble (rocks)
Iron Sulfate Industrial steel byproducts
Magnesium Oxide Industrially mined magnesium from seawater

Where Are Most Synthetic Vitamins Made?

  • China: Produces over 90% of the world’s ascorbic acid (Vitamin C) and a large share of B vitamins.

  • Germany: Major exporter of synthetic vitamins through companies like BASF.

  • USA: Manufactures and distributes a significant amount of supplements but often imports raw materials from China.

Why Real Nutrition Can’t Come From a Pill

Real nutrients in food are never isolated. They come as synergistic complexes: vitamins, minerals, enzymes, antioxidants, co-factors — all designed by nature, not a lab.

When you try to imitate this complexity with one lab-made fragment, you throw off the entire balance.

Nature doesn’t make isolated nutrients. Science tries to copy it, but can never replicate the divine intelligence of a living food.

Whole-food-based supplements (like acerola cherry, camu camu, rosehips, spirulina, etc.) are far more recognizable to the body and create true nourishment.

The Spiritual Cost of Synthetic Living

There’s another layer to this: your connection to Source, to God, to your own divine nature.

The farther we move from nature — from soil-grown food, clean water, sun, and herbs — the sicker, weaker, and more lost we become.

Synthetic living breeds disconnection:

  • Disconnection from your body

  • From the earth

  • From the wisdom of generations past

True healing doesn’t come from pills. It comes from remembering who you are and what you were designed for:

Sunlight, movement, meditation, fresh natural food, joy, rest, time with family and friends, plants, trees, animals, natural bodies of water all help you to remember your true self, which is Divine :)

What You Can Do Today

  1. Ditch the synthetic multis — they may be doing more harm than good.

  2. Eat a rainbow of fresh, organic, whole foods.

  3. Support with high quality organic whole-food-based supplements when needed (like herbs, dried superfoods, fermented organics). The ones my family and I use are from www.healthforcesuperfoods.com

  4. Detox your beliefs — health doesn’t come in a pill.

  5. Reconnect to nature and Source — your true pharmacy.

Reclaim Your Power

The synthetic supplement industry was born out of war, chemical engineering, and corporate greed. It was never about your health.

You don’t need a lab-made pill to thrive. Some high quality ones can be helpful during extreme depletion, but should only be taken for a short time, not long term as they can deplete and cause toxic build up over a time. You need to nourish your body with what was already created for you.

The more you align with nature, source, and truth, the more you restore your vitality and remember your purpose.

Your body is intelligent. Your health is sacred. And healing is your birthright.

Let food be thy medicine, and let nature be your guide.
